Furniture Design
The table and chairs pictured above are indicative of some hobby projects I have worked on. In this particular case I designed and built a tabletop, and subsequently designed metal/wood stacking chairs. Another furniture project can be seen in the Home CNC section.
The ergonomics of tables and chairs were foreign to me before starting this project, so research was necessary.
To ensure the strength of these chairs, I utilized FEA to simulate typical loads on the leg assemblies.
In order to expedite the manufacture and assembly process of the legs (because the same thing will be done 12 times) I also designed an assembly jig (seen above).
For all of my furniture projects, detailed CAD drawings and cut lists are also created to aid the manufacturing process.
